Why we started Nocturnals
We've both been on the other side of a bad booking.
We've both spent years in Brisbane's DJ and hospitality industry. Between us we've seen venue managers burned by DJs who cancel last minute, play whatever they want instead of what the room needs, and treat every gig like a favour rather than a job.
We started Nocturnals because we knew it could be done better. A proper agency model — not just a booking service — where the venue gets consistent entertainment, the DJ gets fair pay and clear direction, and both sides know exactly what to expect.
We're focused on inner-city Brisbane. Fortitude Valley, South Bank, Newstead, West End and the CBD. We know these precincts, the venues, and what their crowds respond to.
Nocturnals is built to be the kind of agency we wish had existed when we were on the other side of the booking.
